Credit Valley Conservation, on behalf of the Region of Peel and with the support of the City of Mississauga and Toronto and Region Conservation, has embarked on a project entitled Lakeview Waterfront Connection.
The Lakeview Waterfront Connection Project, an element of the Inspiration Lakeview visioning process for the Mississauga Waterfront, includes the creation of a new park along the eastern Mississauga shoreline. The intended purpose of this project is to enhance and re-create natural coastal habitats, build a natural park that encourages public access, use, and exploration along the waterfront, and facilitate sustainable city building. June 3, 2018: Lakeview Waterfront Connection to be named in honour of the late Mississauga Councilor Jim Tovey.
March 8, 2018: Art Exhibit Explores Beauty Beneath the Surface of a Wetland – There’s more than meets the eye at the water’s edge. Starting on March 22 (World Water Day), Credit Valley Conservation and the Region of Peel present Morphology, an art exhibit showcasing a constructed coastal wetland through a photographer’s lens.

November 22, 2016: In-Water Construction Begins for Lakeview Waterfront Connection!
Clean rubble is now making its way to the lake, initiating Phase 1 of the Lakeview Waterfront Connection construction process and moving one step closer to transforming a degraded section of the Lake Ontario shoreline into a beautiful, naturalized conservation area with enhanced public access.
June 11, 2015: Lakeview Waterfront Connection Receives Environmental Assessment Approval.
The Individual Environmental Assessment for the Lakeview Waterfront Connection receives approval by the Minister of the Environment and Climate Change.
December 5th, 2012: The Lakeview Waterfront Connection Terms of Reference (ToR) receives government approval.
The Lakeview Waterfront Connection ToR, a guiding document that outlines the framework for the completion of an Environmental Assessment, receives approval from the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change.
