Boards & Committees

TRCA is a body corporate whose administration of policy is determined by its mandate under the Conservation Authorities Act and by regulations and rules it has adopted. To carry out its responsibilities, the Board of Directors elects an Executive Committee to make recommendations on those matters defined in their Terms of Reference.

The Executive Committee meets monthly, as does the Board of Directors, and has been delegated some of the day-to-day management decisions of TRCA, including the administration of Ontario Regulation 166/06 (Regulation of Development, Interference with Wetlands and Alterations to Shorelines and Watercourses).

The advisory board considers matters assigned to them as provided for in the Administrative By-Law for the Board of Directors, and as described in the adopted Terms of Reference.

The public may attend all meetings of the Board of Directors, its Executive Committee and advisory board. For information on requesting to make a delegation at a meeting, refer to the Delegation Information
