The following lists identify locations where accessible recreational activities and facilities are available. We will be updating this list as we work to remove barriers and improve access to your public greenspaces.

Conservation Areas and Parks

Albion Hills Conservation Park
  • There are six accessible parking spaces on gravel located beside the splash pad. The splash pad facility is accessible, including a washroom and barrier free entrance to the pool.
  • All washroom facilities have been outfitted with limestone ramps for barrier free access.
Bathurst Glen Golf Course
  • Both the clubhouse and driving range facility have fully accessible women’s and men’s washrooms. There are no adapted golf carts; however, physically limited players are able to drive the carts closer to the greens and tees than would normally be allowed to try to limit the amount of walking required.
Boyd Conservation Park
  • Accessible men’s and women’s washroom facilities on site.
Bruce’s Mill Conservation Park
  • Chalet is fully accessible with men’s and women’s accessible washroom facilities.
  • Picnic sites have accessible washroom facilities.
Claireville Conservation Area
  • No accessible features.
Glen Haffy Conservation Park
  • Accessible parking area with an at-grade paths to the fishing ponds. There are accessible washroom facilities located at both fishing areas. There is an accessible fishing area with railing barriers at the upper pond.
Greenwood Conservation Area
  • Men’s and womens accessible washroom facilities on site.
Heart Lake Conservation Park
  • Barrier free Splash Pad with accessible washroom facilities.
Petticoat Creek Conservation Park
  • Pool facilities are barrier free.
Tommy Thompson Park
  • Ten kilometres of accessible paved trail.

Conservation Lands

Altona Forest
  • No accessible features.
Bolton Resource Management Tract
  • No accessible features.
East Duffins Headwaters
  • No accessible features.
Nashville Conservation Reserve

Education Centres

Albion Hills Field Centre
  • Albion Hills Field Centre can accommodate participants in wheelchairs and with other special needs. Programs can also be tailored to meet the specific needs of the group and/or participants. Please ask for more details regarding our accessibility during your planning session.
Black Creek Pioneer Village
  • The main visitors centre building is completely barrier free. There are twelve accessible parking spaces near the entrance to the visitors centre. Inside, there are two accessible washrooms as well as an elevator to access both floors. Within the village, there are approximately seventeen ramps leading in to different buildings with varying levels of accessibility. The event pavilion has two additional accessible washrooms.
  • Please note: Ground conditions in the village vary and may become slippery or muddy in near freezing and rainy weather.
Claremont Field Centre
  • Claremont Field Centre can accommodate participants in wheelchairs and with other special needs. Programs can also be tailored to meet the specific needs of the group and/or participants. Please ask for more details regarding our accessibility during your planning session.
Kortright Centre for Conservation
  • Kortright Centre for Conservation has two accessible parking spaces in the main parking lot. The Visitor Centre has accessible washrooms and an elevator to access the lower level. Most education programming offered at this facility can accommodate participants in wheel chairs and with other special needs. Please advise Customer Service at the time of booking of any special requirements for your group a minimum of 2 weeks prior to your scheduled visit.
Lake St. George Field Centre
  • Lake St. George can accommodate participants in wheelchairs and with other special needs. Programs can also be tailored to meet the specific needs of the group and/or participants. Please ask for more details regarding our accessibility during your planning session.

 

TRCA Campgrounds

Albion Hills Campground
  • There is an accessible men’s and women’s washroom facility on site including accessible shower stalls. If you or a member of your group would like to book a campsite close to this accessible feature, please contact camp reservations at 1.855.811.0111.
Glen Rouge Campground
