MANAGING CLAIREVILLE
Toronto and Region Conservation Authority (TRCA) updated its Claireville Conservation Area Management Plan in 2012. This plan, developed with input from partners, stakeholders and the public, will guide the future use of the area.
The following statement was developed to provide strategic direction for the plan:
Claireville Conservation Area is an oasis for wildlife and people — a healthy, diverse urban forest and one of the largest natural corridors in a major city region. It is a destination where the natural and cultural heritage resources are protected and restored through partnerships and community-based stewardship. Visitors enjoy year-round nature-based recreation and education experiences while respecting the unique environmental features.
PET POLICY
Pets are permitted at most TRCA Conservation parks. However, for the safety and enjoyment of everyone, we do insist that:
- Pets are kept on a leash no longer than 2 metres at all times.
- Owners clean up after their pets.
- Non-service pets are not allowed in the visitors centre or on ski trails.
- A maximum of three pets per person/family.
- Pets are never left unattended.
