TRCA conducts watershed planning to characterise the health of the natural features and functions in a watershed and make recommendations which will protect, restore, and enhance the watershed over the long-term.
Watershed plans are multi-year initiatives, with input from our partners, stakeholders, and the general public. The supporting technical documents for the watershed plan and related plans such as for aquatic habitat management, are also available. In addition, TRCA develops management plans for specific areas in the watershed, such as major greenspace lands, and ecological restoration plans for places like former aggregate pits and eroded sections of streams, or other altered environments.
