The Salmon Festival in Highland Creek

The Salmon Festival at Highland Creek, held annually in Morningside Park, is an event that brings watershed residents from across the region to view the annual salmon migration from Lake Ontario, up Highland Creek, through Morningside Park. The festival uses children’s activities, environmentally-friendly vendors, live performances and guided nature hikes to celebrate the storied history of Highland Creek.

NEIGHBOURHOOD GREENING PROJECTS

With funding from the Ontario Trillium Foundation, TRCA in collaboration with the City of Toronto and community organizations, developed Neighbourhood Greening Plans for the neighbourhoods surrounding Milliken Park, Cedarbrook Park and Morningside Park. These plans were to develop a vision for neighbourhood greening through activities such as planting events, clean ups and educational workshops.
