NOTICE: MINOR TRAIL DISRUPTION
As part of an ecological restoration project, TRCA staff will be using sections of the main spine trail near Bayview Avenue in order to access project work sites and transport machinery and equipment.
Please obey all trail signage, TRCA staff direction, and follow physical distancing guidelines. Disruptions will occur from approximately January 25, 2021 to mid-February 2021. The Oak Ridges Corridor Conservation Reserve (ORCCR) is an important ecological linkage on the Oak Ridges Moraine.
Located in Richmond Hill, York Region, this 175-plus hectare property is dominated by mature forests, wetlands, meadows, kettle lakes, and a significant network of recreational trails.
Local residents and visitors are able to utilize ORCCR’s extensive trail system to enjoy the natural beauty of the area while protecting the integrity of the surrounding ecosystem.
WINTER SAFETY MESSAGE
TRCA reminds all nature seekers to be extremely cautious when enjoying time outside this winter, and to stay on designated trails at all times. Ice is never 100% safe. Please STAY OFF local TRCA rivers, streams, ponds, reservoirs, wetlands and marshes. Conditions are not being monitored and ice may be unsafe. Venturing out onto the ice is NOT a permitted activity at TRCA parks. Do not put yourself and others at risk.
Please Note:
- Prior to coming to this location, every visitor must do the Ontario Ministry of Health self-assessment for COVID-19. If they do not pass the assessment, they should not visit the location.
- No washrooms on site. (Please plan ahead.)
- Limited or no waste receptacles. (Please carry out litter.)
