Etobicoke Valley Park Major Maintenance Project – Completed

Toronto and Region Conservation Authority (TRCA) conducted major maintenance along Etobicoke Creek in Etobicoke Valley Park, in the City of Toronto. As a result of the work, TRCA was able to protect the multi-use Etobicoke trail.

Project Location

Approximate location of the project; along Etobicoke Valley Creek, between the Queen Elisabeth Way (QEW) and the bridge at Lakeshore Boulevard.

Scope of Work

  • Start Date: July 2019
  • Completion Date: September 2019

The Etobicoke Valley Park Major Maintenance Project was considered high priority because of how close the pathway was to the top of slope. The scope of work included the following:

  • Constructing vegetated rock buttress
  • Constructing vegetated retaining wall
  • Terraseeding and soil stabilization
  • Path paving
